When are the SAT test dates in 2026?
In the current 2026–2027 testing cycle, the next SAT as of October 5, 2026 is November 7, 2026: register by October 23, or by October 27 with the late fee. It is followed by December 5, 2026, then March 6, May 1, and June 5, 2027. The August 22, September 12, and October 3 tests have already been held; September 12 scores were released September 25, 2026.
Upcoming dates and deadlines
These deadlines apply to US and international weekend registration and close at 11:59 p.m. US Eastern Time. College Board's dates, deadlines, and score release calendar were checked October 5, 2026; seat availability is a separate check. Registering between the regular and late deadlines costs $38 more. The late deadline is also the change deadline: the last day to change your center or to cancel at the $34 fee instead of $44.

Was there a September SAT in 2026?
Yes: Saturday, September 12, 2026. It has been held, and scores were released September 25, 2026. Its registration window has closed, so it is not a date you can still register for. For a new registration, compare November 7 and December 5 with your application's last accepted testing date.

Choose a usable date, not just an available one
Check the college's testing deadline and score-reporting instructions before paying. A November test may fit one early application and miss another. Do not assume every early deadline accepts only the fall dates.
If you need College Board device lending, request it at least 30 days before testing. School Day registration is handled through schools, and approved accommodations have earlier submission deadlines. Build practice around the chosen date with the study-plan generator.
Accommodations deadlines come earlier
The accommodations column above is the last day College Board must receive a request and documentation for that test date. The deadline for November 7 (September 18) has passed. The next one still open is October 16, 2026, for the December 5, 2026 test. A school 504 plan does not by itself complete College Board's SSD approval process, so work with your SSD coordinator.
Missing the deadline does not rule out testing, but approved accommodations may not be available on test day if approval comes less than 14 days before it. They still carry over to later College Board tests.
