Format and timing

When a digital SAT module’s timer ends, you lose access to that module and continue according to the test sequence. Blank answers do not earn credit, and there is no wrong-answer deduction, so make a best attempt before time expires.

### You cannot borrow time from the next module

A fast second module does not give you time to reopen the first. Treat each module as its own deadline and use the question navigator to track unanswered or flagged items before that deadline.

The ten-minute break is between Reading and Writing and Math; it is not extra time to finish the previous section.

### What to do in the final minute

First make sure no multiple-choice item is blank when you can select a best remaining choice. Then revisit work you can finish quickly. Do not leave several accessible questions unseen while trying to resolve one difficult problem.

For student-produced Math responses, enter a valid numeric answer, not a letter. If a question asks for a fraction, use the allowed entry format and avoid a mixed number. There is no guaranteed score boost from random numeric entries.

### Repair the pacing pattern before the next test

After a timed module, compare the point where you fell behind with the last questions you did not reach. Was the delay reading, equation setup, calculator entry, or checking? Practice that step with a small set, then try another full [timed module](https://1600.now/modules).

The goal is to make a better skip-and-return decision, not to impose identical seconds on every question. A short grammar item and a data-inference passage can reasonably need different amounts of time.

No. The SAT has no deduction for a wrong answer. Make your best attempt on every question, and use an educated guess when you cannot solve it before the module ends.

The standard digital SAT has 134 minutes of testing and a 10-minute break: 2 hours 24 minutes once testing begins. Arrival, check-in, and instructions add time; approved accommodations or a School Day essay can change the schedule.
