How many questions are on the SAT?

    The Digital SAT has 98 questions total — 54 Reading & Writing questions (27 per module) and 44 Math questions (22 per module).

    Question count by section

    Each section splits into two modules of equal size.

    • Reading & Writing Module 1 — 27 questions
    • Reading & Writing Module 2 — 27 questions
    • Math Module 1 — 22 questions
    • Math Module 2 — 22 questions
    • Total — 98 questions

    Does every question count?

    No. Each module includes pretest (experimental) questions that don't count toward your score. You can't tell which ones they are, so treat every question as scored.
